1) RIVER GALLO: Trans Latinx filmmaker River Gallo is a trailblazer and a delight to interview. Expanding on their short film as an NYU student, River created “Ponyboi”, the first film that features an intersex character played by an intersex actor. The journey to success wasn’t easy, from working through mental health struggles and addiction, to the spotlight on their identity, River shares their experiences openly with TLL.
2) IZ HARRIS: Iz Harris is a travel filmmaker, host, and mom whose videos have the power to make you feel like you’re next to her and along for the ride. She’s the host and producer of Eater’s “Travel Eat Repeat” and the co-founder of Bright Trip, a site with online courses for travelers. Iz’s journey working as a fulltime creative is motivating to watch because her transparency is one of her greatest superpowers, read the interview here!
