✨THE LIGHT LEAKS HIGHLIGHTS: EDITION #41✨

💕 It’s official; after three years of staying inside and connecting digitally, we are ready to see y’all IRL at our newest event, ‘Creating Your Spotlight: A Panel on Building a Creative Career’.💕Los Angeles: Join us at Junior High on Saturday, March 25th, 2023, for an evening filled with good vibes, good chat and amazing guests from across the creative arts!

Learn how our following panelists went from passions to paychecks with their talents and creative vision. Meet our incredible panelists: 

  • So Yun Um - Korean-American Director and Producer from LA, So Yun Um explores intimate and challenging stories of marginalized people with piercing humanity and a poignant editing style. Her directorial debut documentary feature film, LIQUOR STORE DREAMS, which is about second generation Korean American children of Liquor Store owners in the LA area, made its world premiere at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival. Her work has screened at Palm Springs International Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, BFI London and more. Beyond filmmaking, she has produced a variety of branded K-pop content for Snapchat, Teen Vogue, FB/Meta and more.   • Savana Ogburn - Savana Ogburn is a photographer, collage artist, animator, and set designer based in Los Angeles, California. Notable clients like Time Magazine, Capitol Records, Gucci Beauty and Rookie Mag have sought their unique creative vision. They graduated with a BFA in fine art photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2019. The LA-based photographer/ collage artist/ animator and set designer frequently explores humor, queer identity and pop culture through a theatrical and textural lens. Creating magical worlds out of cardboard, glitter, and killer lighting - Savana knows how to make a scene out of household objects and misc. crafts. DIY all the way!  Plus, she runs an amazing newsletter that provides great inspiration for emerging creatives!   • Annie Nishida is a fourth-generation Japanese American and East LA native who uses her lived experiences as inspiration for scriptwriting and visual arts! Her projects explore the Asian American experience, focusing on the hilarity and awkwardness of growing up, and she loves combining comedy and genre to explore socially conscious themes. She was a staff writer on Disney Channel’s GABBY DURAN & THE UNSITTABLES and Disney Jr.’s upcoming series ROBOGOBO. She has also written over two dozen episodes of animated television and developed an adult animated project with Hulu. In addition to writing, Annie illustrates comics, exhibiting them at independent publishing events across California. Her ultimate goal is to help people feel seen and heard. 

Dahlia Lagos - Dahlia Lagos is the Colombian American bilingual singer, songwriter, and producer who has written and produced songs for STARZ’s groundbreaking and critically acclaimed tv show VIDA, Showtime's "The L Word: Generation Q," HBO's "We're Here," and CW's "Katy Keene," to name a few. Most recently, Dahlia scored episodes for Hulu's Latinx Heritage Month. She has also worked on VICE, Viacom, Match.com, Smartwater, and Google campaigns, making her one of the go-to producers for companies such as Mean Machine, BigNoise, and Elias/Universal. She is currently writing and co-producing with Rami Afuni (SAINt JHN, Kiesza, LastMonday,) Chaz Mishan (Anitta & Sofia Reyes), Zulaica (Sergio JR, Paty Cantu), Martin Estrada (Gashi, Selena Gomez,) and The CheatCodes. She also has several tracks on hold with multi-platinum artists in both America and abroad and is working on her solo project as an artist. 

This event is going to be an incredible opportunity for our creative community to come together and connect.We'll have a 45-minute to 1-hour panel discussion, with a Q&A from the audience. Afterwards, we'll have an hour of mingling and a giveaway basket filled with amazing goodies from some exciting sponsors we’ll be revealing over the next few days.
