• In the Cut LA is a friend of TLL they produce events and classes feared towards supporting budding Black creatives and POC communities. Check out their resources page, as well as current classes page!

• Our friends, Cinema Femme are back with their Cinema Femme Short Film Festival - get your passes now. This will be the festival’s first year as a hybrid event, combining four in-person screenings, various Q&A’s, workshops, and panels with the option to view films virtually.

• PAM CUT is a Portland, OR-based year-round organization that expands the reach of cinema as an art form and challenges for whom, by whom, and how stories can be told. Their upcoming Sustainability Labs program focuses on embracing artists’ multiplicities and de-siloing modes of storytelling to provide greater opportunity and access. From goal setting for an existing or upcoming (or proposed!) project, to personal brand building, to assistance with setting up LLC/business plans, and debt management - the Sustainability lab is a program for any mid-level creatives,  Apply here!

• Women and Hollywood founder Melissa Silverstein is launching the podcast In Her Voice where listeners will be able to hear from a variety of women in the industry on their careers and experiences. Get ready for some great advice and inspo!

• Lizzo’s groundbreaking reality series Watch Out for the Big Grrrls is casting for a second season at Amazon Studios as the singer signs an extension on her deal with the company to develop original programming and really, we love to see it.

• The Writer’s Guild of America is ready to strike for a fair contract if their requests, including better wages and compensation, aren’t met by May 1st.

• The board of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences created the Production and Technology Branch to represent those working in technical and production positions in all phases of filmmaking, from stunt coordinators and script supervisors to restoration specialists.

• Barbie Ferreria opened up about her role as Kat on Euphoria, body positivity, and her reasons for leaving the hit show.
