• 🚨🚨Great news! 🚨🚨The deadline for submitting your application to the LALIFF Works in Progress fund, sponsored by Amazon Studios, has been extended to May 7th. This fantastic opportunity is intended to support independent Latine filmmakers based in the US, by granting financial assistance during the final stages of post-production for their feature film projects.

• The Light Leaks stands with the WGA as they strike for fair wages and a more equitable contract after the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) failed to meet their reasonable terms. 

• A study of Netflix by the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative shows that more than half of the streaming service’s movies and TV shows are led by women, which is a step in the right direction, though the streamer is still lacking in other forms of representation.

• Anna May Wong is known as the first Chinese American woman actor in Hollywood and this week became the newest edition to the Barbie "Inspiring Women" series, as the first Asian American featured in the collection.

• “The moment belongs to us.” - writer/producer Gloria Calderón Kellett. Several Latinx creatives shared inspiring insights at the Latinx Creatives Empowerment Brunch in Beverly Hills this week.

• There’s real research that proves the disparity of different genders and minorities in film and television - Women In Film has compiled an extensive list of diversity research in the industry.
